| Senior Beta Club Update |
Newest Missouri Beta Clubs |
- Selection of a Beta Club sponsor. School administrators can choose an administrator, counselor, teacher or librarian as a sponsor.
- Read National Beta Club requirements. Per Constitution: Article II, Membership
- Determine school's specific criteria - GPA, commendable character and attitude, etc.
- Compile a list of at least five (5) students who meet membership requirements. There is no maximum number.
- Request free invitational materials and a sample parent letter from The National Beta Club office. Included are congratulatory notes for the parents, an invitation to the student to join the club, and a brochure containing facts about The National Beta Club.
- Send the invitations home with the students along with a deadline for submitting membership fees.
- Collect membership fees ($15 per new member). There is no school charter fee.
- Start online application process (preferred for quickness) or print out hard copy of new club application.
- Complete all requested information and obtain necessary signatures on the application.
- Mail the application, along with one school check ($15 per member) to this address:

- Allow four weeks for the processing of the new club application and membership fees.
- Wait until membership credentials are received before planning an induction ceremony. A username and password will be included that will give the club sponsor(s) access to sample induction ceremony formats as well as other club information.
- Please allow time for school administrator and sponsor to sign certificates after they are received.
- To remain an active chartered club, new members should be inducted and their membership fees sent in to the national headquarters yearly.

- Certificate of membership, membership card, membership lapel pin, subscription to BetaWeb (exclusive, interactive website for Beta members only), window decal
- Recognition for achievement in a prestigious national organization with over 400,000 members
- Opportunity to attend and compete at state convention (Missouri Senior Beta Convention in Branson in March; Missouri Junior Beta Convention in Poplar Bluff in December) with academic testing in English, spelling, social studies, science, math, quiz bowl, oratory, club banner, small group talent, large group talent, creative writing, acrylic painting, colored pencil drawing, etc. qualifying students for competition at the annual National Beta Convention in June
- Opportunity to attend the Beta Broyhill Leadership Program
- Opportunity to be nominated for the John W. Harris Leadership Award (25 Senior Betas and 25 Junior Betas are selected).
- Opportunity to attend a National Beta Club State Leadership Academy (where available)
- Opportunity to compete for a Missouri Beta Club Scholarship to Truman State, Southeast Missouri State University, Missouri State, and Three Rivers Community College
- Opportunity to be nominated for over $250,000 in National Beta College Scholarships (for graduating seniors)
- Free SchoolTube account – SchoolTube provides students and educators a safe, world class, and FREE media sharing website that is nationally endorsed by premier education associations.
- Beta Club seal provided for the graduating diploma of each graduating senior Beta Club member
